To hear the organ in all its splendour go to Paul Broadhurst’s YouTube channel
where you will find many of his favourite pieces including
Paul took on the mantle of Christ Church organist on Easter Day 1996. His associations with historic Henry Willis organs go back even further: as resident organist at St Mark’s Birkenhead whilst still at school and at Christ Church Port Sunlight after university. He studied the organ with Noel Rawsthorne of Liverpool Cathedral who instilled in him an overriding emphasis on musicality and a love of the music of J S Bach. The kaleidoscopic range of colours of the organ here at Christ Church has inspired Paul to follow Dr Rawsthorne’s lead in creating arrangements of very wide variety of music for the organ, many of which are published. A keen conservationist, Paul is a passionate advocate of our vintage “Father” Willis organ.
